"I wouldn’t say that black-and-white
is always better than colour. It’s like, it depends a bit on the image, and
there are beautiful colour images where everything comes together. What I like
about black-and-white is that it takes you sort of out of the reality, because
black-and-white is completely irreal. You know, everything is colour and you
see colour all the time. That’s why I think black-and-white is a bit like
stopping the time, stripping off reality, and looking at the soul or the core
of something, the real, the bare minimum."
