P - "But what the heck do we tell the patient?!!"

Love is a bitch that doggedly persists!

Draw a second sample? Tell them you require more for the test?
ReplyDeleteHer blood was supposed to be allowed to clot and settle for 3 hours and the supernatant serum injected i.m. Most of them bring centrifuge tubes but she hadn't so I had no idea why I drew her blood and kept it in a labelled plain bulb. All I was doing was mechanical poke'n'draw. But we did find that bulb there itself. Good, 'cause now I can laugh about it. :P
ReplyDeleteSucks how now that I'm pro at handling the dermat opd I'ma have to leave dermat. Dermat was a great time 'cause of all the nice people there. :'(
There's nice people in anaesthesia, too! It's incredible how the postings we think are so maaf are filled with these revelations in internship..and I have a newfound respect for subjects I didnt like all that much while posted in them before..and there's blood collections in dermat, too? I'm surprised how they've turned us into mechanical bloodsuckers :D
ReplyDeleteDermat has enough work to keep you busy. Lotsa blood collections, IVs, IMs. You have to handle the 'Pulse' and 'PUVA' section on your own without even knowing why you're doing what you're doing. I'm glad I got to learn something different today though. All this blood collection doesn't let us learn about the subjects in any way. I just kept asking them everything.
ReplyDeleteYes, Internship changes you in it's own li'l way.
